Intro

Hi, everybody! Welcome back to Top Words.
My name is Lindsay, and today we're going to be talking about the Top 10 Phrases to Never Use in a Relationship. Let’s begin!
PHRASE 1
The first phrase is ...
[Normal] Tu as changé. [Slow] Tu as changé.
"You've changed."
This means that you don't recognize your partner anymore...
PHRASE 2
[Normal] Il est où le problème? [Slow] Il est où le problème?
"What's the big deal?"
Wow, this sounds like a declaration of war.
PHRASE 3
[Normal] Ta grammaire n'est pas correcte. [Slow] Ta grammaire n'est pas correcte.
"Your grammar is incorrect."
...that's upsetting. I mean everyone can make mistakes, but you don’t need to point it out!
PHRASE 4
[Normal] Tu es tellement... [Slow] Tu es tellement...
"You're so..."
Try to complete the sentence by yourself!
PHRASE 5
[Normal] Il faut qu'on parle. [Slow] Il faut qu'on parle.
"We need to talk."
This sentence reeks of a break up!
PHRASE 6
[Normal] Du calme. [Slow] Du calme.
This means "Relax." and sounds pretty haughty, so never use it in a fight!
PHRASE 7
[Normal] Ça m'est égal. [Slow] Ça m'est égal.
"Whatever."
This is only ever used when you don't care anymore.
PHRASE 8
[Normal] Non mais comment tu conduis? [Slow] Non mais comment tu conduis?
"How the hell are you driving?"
Use this if you want to argue.
PHRASE 9
[Normal] Je gagne plus que toi. [Slow] Je gagne plus que toi.
"I earn more than you."
This is for all the proud breadwinners who want to piss off their partner! It’s also a surefire argument-starter….
PHRASE 10
[Normal] Qu'est-ce que tu portes? [Slow] Qu'est-ce que tu portes?
"What are you wearing?"
It's useful if you want to make your partner feel inappropriate.
PHRASE 11
[Normal] Ne t'approche pas de mon téléphone. [Slow] Ne t'approche pas de mon téléphone.
"Stay away from my phone."
Don’t say this, unless you are really hiding something!
PHRASE 12
[Normal] Je te déteste. [Slow] Je te déteste.
"I hate you."
This is straightforward and doesn't need any explanation, right?
