Becky: Next is the word meaning 'speak'

Becky: Last is the word meaning 'English'

Becky: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the formal question meaning 'Do you speak English?'

Yasmine: Nowadays many young people can speak English, unlike elderly people. So if you are lost in France and uncomfortable speaking French and want to use English instead, ask a young person. Many of them speak with a strong French accent though.
