Eric: Hi everyone, and welcome back to FrenchPod101.com. I'm Eric.

Eric: This is Must-Know French Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 23. In this lesson you'll learn the second set of Phrases Often Used By Young People.
Eric: Young people use these all the time in daily conversation.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Eric: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Yasmine: piger
Yasmine: passer une nuit blanche
Yasmine: pioncer
Yasmine: percuter
Eric: Yasmine, what's our first expression?
Yasmine: piger
Eric: When it's used as a slang expression it means "to get, to understand.”
Yasmine: [SLOW] piger [NORMAL] piger

Eric: Use this slang expression when you are surrounded by close people. It is stronger than the neutral word

Eric: literally meaning "to spend a white night." But when it's used as a slang expression it means "stay up all night."

Eric: Use this slang expression when you talk about sleepless nights. It can be referring to staying up late for any number of reasons, but in many cases, it is implied that it’s because of having fun with someone.

Eric: "We stayed up all night on my birthday."

Yasmine: pioncer
Eric: When it's used as a slang expression it means "snooze."
Yasmine: [SLOW] pioncer [NORMAL] pioncer

Eric: Use this slang expression when you talk about sleeping. It's less formal than
Yasmine: dormir,
Eirc: which has the same meaning. It's mostly used with friends.

Eric: literally meaning "collide with." But when it's used as a slang expression it means "realize."
