In France, when two people meet for the first time, it's also common to just say your name on its own. Right after saying Bonjour, you pause a bit and then give your name. |
For example, |
Bonjour. Lya. Enchantée. |
"Hello. Lya. Nice to meet you." |
This is the end of this lesson. |
Remember, these Can Do lessons are about learning practical language skills. |
What's next? |
Show us what you can do. |
When you're ready, take your assessment. |
You can take it again and again, so try anytime you like. |
Our teachers will assess it, and give you your results. |
Well done! Now you know how to introduce yourself in French. That's all there is to it. |
Keep practicing — and move on to the next lesson! |

Hi Suzette!
Enchantée de faire votre connaissance ! (Delighted to meet you!) 😊 You're doing great in introducing yourself in French. Just a small note: if you are female, you would write "Enchantée" with an extra "e" at the end. It's wonderful to see your progress!
Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
Merci!

Hi Nadia!
Bonjour! (Hello!) Merci de partager votre introduction avec nous. (Thank you for sharing your introduction with us.) Your introduction is almost perfect! Just a small correction:
- "Je m’applle Nadia" should be "Je m'appelle Nadia."
The apostrophe in "m'appelle" is important because it shows the contraction of "me" and "appelle." Keep up the great work! ❤️
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Merci! (Thank you!)

Hi Nicola !
Bonjour et enchantée de faire votre connaissance ! (Hello and nice to meet you!) 😊 You did a great job introducing yourself in French. Just a small correction: "enchantée" should be spelled as "enchanté" if you are male. Otherwise, it's perfect!
Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
Merci beaucoup !

Bonjour Bea! (Hello Bea!)
Enchantée de te rencontrer aussi ! (Nice to meet you too!) 😊
Your introduction is great! Just a small correction to make it perfect:
1. "Enchantée" should be followed by a period or exclamation mark to complete the sentence.
So it should be: "Bonjour, je m’appelle Betty. Enchantée !"
Keep up the great work! If you have any questions, please let us know.
Merci ! (Thank you!)
