When my class was studying Theatre of the Absurd, one classmate mentioned there were sexual overtones in the play, and my teacher agreed. Being young and naive at that time, I couldn't see the sexual overtones. If a woman laughs, and half the time she does it, she is in bed, is there some kind of sexual overtone to that?

Bonjour tout le monde !
oui Munia tu as raison !
We do have many songs with sexual overtones "connotations sexuelles" ou "double-sens" like for example the famous France Gall song "Annie aime les sucettes a l'anis" written by Serge Gainsbourg (a "figure de style" master).
I also remember a commercial for "La Vosgiennes" bonbons : "je ne bois pas, je ne fume pas mais qu'est ce que je peux sucer... comme Suc des Vosges..."

Hi Careyxx
Munia' expression basically means that you'll win a women's heart much faster and with less effort if you make her laugh!

Hello, everybody! I am happy to see that all of the French teachers are still here. For awhile it seemed like no one was posting in the lesson forums and the mp3s that were uploaded were the wrong mp3s. That could have been a mistake on the part of the administration taking the place of ghost teachers. I have heard of ghost writers, but not ghost teachers.
It is disappointing to hear that the lesson topics that I am interested in will not come out until next year. It is also disappointing to hear that they will be Newbie Lessons, not my level. Still I am sure that there will be something that I can learn from them. I just hope you people will continue to put out interesting Intermediate Lessons such as Huff N' Puff. That is my favorite lesson. By the way, weren't we supposed to have an Intermediate Lesson last week? I am sure it will be worth the wait, as all things are at Frenchpod101.com.
I hope you people are battling natural disasters such as storms and hurricanes and not the administration.

Hey Careyxxx,
I've been absent for a while as my parents came from France to visit in my humble newly purchased house in Mexico!
Careyxxx when someone makes a request about a lesson, and with the schedule already planned for the few months to come, it takes a LOOOOONG time to be published! :???:
November and December will be the months of many Audio Blogs only in French from Christophe! So you should find your level there. Also for higher level listeners as you, we are going to start Phrases and idioms and more new lesson series within the next two weeks.
Enjoy!

J'aime les vieux films de M. Hulot en vacance. Il est assez innocent, et ne veut pas faire mal à personne. De nos jours, les gens sont trop cyniques.
