Merci beaucoup. These are very useful words for me and for everybody. Because we always speak about our families with somebody. This is the most common topic in conversations between people who just made the acquaintance.

I have two sons . I called them mon fils grand and mon fils petit insted of mon fils cadet. So I called my junior son a grandson.

I like that in-laws are called belle/beau - much nicer than "-in-law"

I like belle-soeur! I speak English and Spanish but this word is not nearly as lovely in either of those languages :-)
