Près de/proche have similar meanings, so there's not much of a difference here. We chose to include "près de" instead of "proche" as that is what we use more frequently in French.

And you're right, making mistakes is good! You can't learn without it! 😄

Pres de - is not really adjective. Proche is more suitable. It is good to make mistakes. I check with a dictionary, if I have doubts and learn more. Merci pour votre travaille
