<itunes:summary>You haven't seen your family that lives in France for ten years! When you finally arrive at their French home, it seems as if you have never been apart! Well, except that you could use a little work in speaking French! That aside, you start talking in French right away, trying to get caught up. The first thing they want to know is what you have been doing for the past ten years! As you sit there, you suddenly realize this is going to be a very difficult French conversation. You can tell them everything as if you are doing it right now. You can give them one-word answers in French such as "working," "studying," and so on. However, you have no idea how to tell them what you have been doing in the past in French. After this visit, you will truly be able to say, "I came, I saw, I conquered French!"

Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! This French Lower Intermediate lesson will teach you how to use French time expressions and discuss past time itineraries in French. You will also learn the history and usage of the popular French quote, "I came, I saw, I conquered!"Download AudioDownload Lesson NotesDownload ReviewDownload ConvoDownload Premium Learning Center</itunes:summary>

Carine : Alors, tu l’as rencontrée ?
Fred : Oui, ça y est. Hier soir.

Carine: And was she as interesting as online?
Fred: Yes, she was so interesting that it was almost like a scam.
Carine: A scam? So for you a beautiful and smart woman is a scam? Bravo!
Fred: Oh, you know…meeting on the Internet, it's unpredictable.
Carine: You went to a restaurant after?
Fred: Yes and I spent so much money that I won't go out for two weeks!

Mon Coeur,Pourquoi, pourquoi, pourquoi ?
Oh, mon lapin!

----Formal English----

Sweetheart,
Why, why, why?
My life doesn't make sense anymore since you left me.
So, I will write you a letter a day until your return.
I am sad. Two days ago, I went to our park.
Every night, I listen to our song.
I promise that from now on, I won't play the womanizer anymore. I will learn the lyrics of ABBA songs by heart.
Oh, my sweetie! (Voice fades)

<itunes:summary>You are flying into France next week to participate in a seminar the French-based company you work for is conducting. You know enough French to communicate fairly well, but you have not practiced speaking in French in quite some time. Suddenly you realize you haven't even booked a room at the French hotel in which your company will be staying! This phone call to France will be one you will never forget! You try to explain what you need to the hotel clerk-in French that could definitely use a refresher course. You tell the French clerk that while you're in France, you will need a desk and a very well lit room because you plan to study at night. You want to be able to study at the table, desk, or even the bed if you choose! Sounding a little confused, the hotel clerk asks you again in French, how many people will be staying with you. When you arrive at the French hotel, you are astonished to find that they have placed you in a four-bedroom suite! You explain to the front desk clerk in your broken French that they must have made a mistake! They look at the reservations and confirm that you asked for at least four lits in the room! All around you, your colleagues check into their rooms without a problem. Embarrassed, you accept the room, not wanting to admit that you should have taken that French course your boss recommended. I wonder how much overtime you have to work to pay for a four-lit suite in France!
Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! This French Beginner lesson will teach you how to say the names of most household furnishings in French! Then we will discuss the history and popularity of Antique French furniture.Download AudioDownload Lesson NotesDownload ReviewDownload DialogDownload Premium Learning Center</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Learn French with FrenchPod101.com! You are finally in France, and while others might be happy with "normal" sightseeing tours, you want to experience EVERYTHING France has to offer! On today's agenda - the zoo in France! You can't wait to see how different the zoo might be from the one back home you have seen since you were two. As you walk through the zoo, you overhear people chatting about the animals in French. A lady looking at the monkeys says excitedly in French, "Look honey! The monkeys are eating ants with a stick!" You rush over to the monkeys; you have only seen them use tools on TV! How exciting! Moments later, you hear a man telling his son in French, "Look at what that baby elephant is doing!" Excited to see something new again (and feeling a little like a kid again), you rush to the elephants where you see the baby throwing dirt all around him. How cute is that? Throughout the day, you witness amazing things from wild animals that you have never seen before! And none of this would be possible if you hadn't learned French. This was definitely a great idea! Good thing you came prepared!
Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! This French Video Vocabulary lesson will teach you the French vocabulary to talk about safari animals. Whether it's to enrich your vacation or to tell the police where the black rhinoceros hit your car, this video lesson is sure to help you tame the wild beast...well, at least the vocabulary for it! In this French vocabulary video, you will learn French by watching the video, seeing both English and French translations describing the video, and all while listening to the French translations being read aloud by our native French speakers. <itunes:summary>Your French boss is attempting to establish a more relaxed, friendly working environment for everyone. He has asked that everyone-himself included-phrase all requests directed at other employees in the friendliest way possible. It is very awkward to hear the once demanding French boss, now say "please, thank you," and "as soon as you get a chance" in French to everyone he speaks to. Honestly, you are not sure how long this will last...but for now, you should brush up on your polite French requests because he seems serious. "Yes sir, I would be happy to get those late reports for you right now. Is that a vein poking out the side of your head sir?" I wonder if he would be happier if I asked nicely, "would you please not fire me today, sir?"

Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! <itunes:summary>Learn French with FrenchPod101.com! After getting everything unpacked and moved in to your new home in France, you decide to tackle that yard. You spend all afternoon planting tons of flowers and even a small garden. And just in time, too - today, you have your five year old niece to watch. You follow her into the backyard as she runs out to play. First, she runs to a patch of flowers and yells back in French, "LOOOK! Bees are on the flowers!" Thinking she has been hurt or something is wrong, you run over to the patch of flowers and stare blankly into the beautiful blooms. Meanwhile, your niece has move on to bigger things - at the gate to the yard, she yells back in French, "OOOOHHH! An inchworm is on your fence!!" Trying desperately to keep up with her, she dashes off to your garden, yelling back in French, "The ladybugs are everywhere!" Realizing at this point that she is not hurt (just excited), you ask in your best French you can muster, "What are you so excited about honey? Please show me." She replies in French, "Ha ha! I know French better than you do!!!" Something tells you that you won't learn anything from her today!
Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! Cher Jean-Luc,

Je suis désespérée. Je suis en pleine traversée du désert.
Je n’y vais pas par quatre chemins; j’ai besoin de travail.
Je sais que j’ai abandonné ton dernier tournage il y a deux ans.
Mais… Patrick me traitait d'hystérique tous les jours.

Anna

----Formal English----

Dear Jean-Luc,

I'm desperate. I have nothing coming up career-wise.
I won't beat around the bush; I need work.
I know that I gave up your last movie production two years ago.
But...Patrick would call me hysterical every day. And Elsa messed up my makeup consistently.
That year, I was tired. I was stressed. So I took off. I know you are shooting a new movie with Cécile.
I'm jumping on the bandwagon...but I'm perfect for this role.
