Kids are a rough crowd! I threw a party for my son Phillip last weekend in a park in Paris. The little French boys and girls were so cute…all of them talking in French with their adorable little French accents! However, there was this one little French boy, Nicolas. He was absolutely adorable, but he was a handful! If foreigners only meet him, they will continue to believe the French are rude! He yelled at me in French that he was too full. Then the little French boy stomped his feet and told me in French that the food stinks! I don’t think anybody forced him to eat half a cake! If it were not for the fact that he is seven, a friend of my son’s, and well…I am a sucker for a French accent, I might have gotten very upset! Next year his invitation might get lost in the mail…

Level: Gengo French

Learn French with FrenchPod101.com! I’m starving, you think to yourself, as you walk the Paris streets in search of a restaurant down after a day of touring French attractions. Walking around France really worked up an appetite! After finding a place with a delicious-sounding steak on its menu, you walk up to the French hostess, point to a seat near the window, and ask, “Can I sit here?” The hostess graciously obliges your request and you sit down to peruse the French menu. So many options, and so little time! You wonder what the best thing might be to order on the menu, because you are so hungry that all the French dishes sound wonderful.  You solicit the opinion of waitress, asking her in French, “What do you recommend?” She points out that the lobster is the dish of the house, so you respond in French, “Let’s go with that.” There will be plenty of time to enjoy French steaks later. How often do you get to enjoy a French lobster? You sip your French wine, stretch your legs, and turn your attention to watching the French passers-by on the street, planning what to do tomorrow. Maybe you’ll go to the French market!
