You have been waiting for a chance to prove yourself and it’s finally here! The French office in the global company you work for is looking for fresh ideas for their fall lineup. They have asked you—and your arch nemesis—to fly to France and pitch your ideas personally to the head of the French office. Excitedly, you take a crash-course in French, prepare a presentation that is sure to knock your French boss off his feet, and board a plane to France! Upon arriving at the French office, your future French coworkers prepare you for your presentation. They show you around the French office and explain that the large, Frenchman is a stickler for details. You aren’t worried though because you believe you have thought of everything…including learning a little French! You are sure you will outdo your rival this time! You walk proudly into your French boss’s office and begin the presentation by greeting him in your newly learned French. Everyone looks shocked after your greeting and you are not sure why…have you mispronounced something??? After the presentation the people in the office that might have been your future employees, inform you that you have just insulted your boss. What? You think to yourself how did this happen? Your French roommate convinced you to read the French personal ads to find a date for this weekend. You have never done anything like this and you really didn’t like the idea! But hey…this French guy didn’t sound so bad! Thirty years old, brown hair, blue eyes, tall, lives in Paris, and very muscular! He sounded like your kind of French guy! You emailed him, chatted in French for a while, and the two of you decided to meet at a French restaurant around the corner tonight. Now, you have been sitting here for an hour and you do not see anyone that even remotely resembles the description in the French personal ads. Excuse me? Yes, I am waiting for a blind date can I help you? You are my blind date?? You couldn’t be him! I mean…you have the brown hair and blue eyes, but you can’t be more than five feet tall and…your muscles…where are they? No wonder you weren’t upset when I told you I had webbed feet!
