You decided one rainy night to buy some French videos from the hotel and stay in your room for the evening to relax. You watched some incredible French films that evening! A French director named Marcel Pagnol directed one of those wonderful French films. Upon returning the videos the next morning, the French hotel clerk mentions that the director also writes French novels. You ask in your broken French where you might be able to checkout some of his French novels along with some books about the history, art, and architecture of France. You can’t remember the French word for library so you just say in English. Thank goodness, he seems to know exactly what you are talking about! He tells you where you can find all those books in a great French library just across town. Oh, how I hope you brought enough money to cover this mistake!

Last weekend I spent the night in my friend’s Southern French home. She invited all of my closest friends over, which was great! Many of us have moved to different regions of France since we left school and we have lost touch. We sat all night at her dining table eating this fantastic French cheese fondue she served! It was a perfect choice to keep us all at the table while we ate! The longer we sat eating this French raclette, the more we talked! We were so lost in reminiscing we lost track of the time and were shocked when we realized it was 3:00 am! The French wine and raclette complemented each other as well as the French friendships we rekindled. There’s no better conversation starter than French raclette!
