Learn French with FrenchPod101.com! You’ve chatted with the lovely French goddess next to you for the entire flight to France. It’s surprising that you haven’t run out of things to talk about yet, but thankfully, you’ve been very diligent about studying your French! But now that you’re arriving in France, the pilot’s voice comes over the speaker and makes some announcements in French. He tells you the time, date, and temperature in France, and you’re surprised at how warm it is. When you remark in French about the weather to your companion, she replies in French, “Yes, it’s hot. I’m glad I brought a t-shirt!” Sadly, you have no t-shirts with you on your trip to France. But maybe that’s a good thing, since many of yours sport pictures and statements that her French sensibilities might find questionable at best.

Learn French with FrenchPod101.com! You’ve gone to see a movie for the first time in France, and you’re having a hard time understanding the French. It’s not that the French is too complicated; rather, much to your chagrin, this French theater is a bit interactive, much like the theaters you’re used to back home. People all around you are whispering to each other in French, crunching on candy and popcorn, and rustling their candy and snack wrappers and bags. It’s making it difficult for you to understand the French language and context. You tell your friend in French, “I need to move to the front row.” He asks you in French, “Why, can’t you see the screen from here?” You respond in French, “No, I just can’t hear!” Your friend reminds you in French, “It will be just as noisy down there. I’ll get an usher and ask for him to quiet things down.”

As the little girl walked through the French countryside, she saw something move across the ground. She swooped down to pick it up. Nobody else in her little French schoolhouse will have a pet like this! The little French girl just couldn’t wait to get to school to show everyone her new pet. She had a little trouble holding it as she ran, as it kept slipping through her fingers, but she managed to hold onto it all the way to the French schoolhouse! As she burst through the school doors, she proudly lifted her new pet into the air and asked her French teacher, “what is this called?” in French. Her teacher barely managed to scream out the words, “where did you get that? It’s a snake!” before she swooned and hit the floor. I think some animals just don’t make good pets!
