Last weekend I spent the night in my friend’s Southern French home. She invited all of my closest friends over, which was great! Many of us have moved to different regions of France since we left school and we have lost touch. We sat all night at her dining table eating this fantastic French cheese fondue she served! It was a perfect choice to keep us all at the table while we ate! The longer we sat eating this French raclette, the more we talked! We were so lost in reminiscing we lost track of the time and were shocked when we realized it was 3:00 am! The French wine and raclette complemented each other as well as the French friendships we rekindled. There’s no better conversation starter than French raclette!

Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! In this French Audio Blog lesson, we will discuss the French cheese and dish, raclette. Remember to pick up the French Lesson notes if you need extra help since this Audio Blog lesson is entirely in French!

Nobody told me that a vacation in Paris could be so exhausting! However, nobody told me we were vacationing during the Telethon 2008 in France either! I had no idea I was that out of shape! How could I possibly say no to such a wonderful cause though, right? You should have seen how many French people were running the marathon and participating in Telethon 2008! I guess I probably wouldn’t be so worn-out if the French guy running next to me hadn’t kept trying to compete with me! I tried to tell him it wasn’t a race, but he yelled back at me in a thick French accent, “maybe not to you!” Well, you know how guys are…I couldn’t let him act like that. So, I had to beat him for the other French runners. What do you mean, you saw me being getting into a French cab?

Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! In this French Audio Blog lesson, you will learn all about the fantastic French Telethon 2008, which benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association!

When I was a child, Christmas was such a magical time of year. My parents took me to French department stores to see huge Christmas displays with lights and toys and trains! We had so much fun! Some French friends of mine from Paris told me about a few stores near them where they have managed to capture that old Christmas spirit. I had planned to shop online this year, but maybe I will get out for some Christmas shopping in Paris. I could meet my friends for some hot chocolate at a French café and then go look at French Christmas store displays just like when I was a kid! It’s beginning to look (and feel) a lot like Christmas in France!

Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! In this French Audio Blog lesson, we will discuss trends regarding Christmas shopping in France!

You know, my friend really has some nerve! She had better pray that she is married by the time she reaches twenty-five years of age or she is going to be sorry! I cannot believe she brought back THIS old French tradition for my birthday! Does she know that women died a lot younger back then…probably because their best friends killed them for doing things like this! It’s hard enough for women to get older without their friends pointing out the fact that they are also not married yet! If I let her live through this, I am going to buy her every ugly hat I can get my hands on and have them delivered to her house by every ex-boyfriend she has on her twenty-fifth birthday!

Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! In this French Audio Blog lesson, you will learn all about a cruel French tradition that French women once celebrated on Saint Catherine’s Day in France, called les Catherinettes.

I am so exhausted I don’t think I will ever catch up on my sleep! Last night was my friend’s twenty-fourth birthday celebration in Paris! We had so much fun. We threw her the biggest birthday bash-French style-in my parent’s Paris home. My parents wanted her to have a very special birthday since it was her first in France, so we really went all out! I don’t know when I have ever seen that many people in my house, or presents in one place…or a cake that big actually. Now that I think about it, I have a bone to pick with dear, sweet, generous Mom and Dad. At least they were thinking about someone! Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! In this French Audio Blog lesson, you will learn about a typical French birthday bash! How does a birthday in France compare with the way you spend yours?
