Learn French with FrenchPod101.com! Unexpectedly, your parents knock on the door of your French hotel room. When they walk in, you’re listening to a good (and loud!) French radio station. Your mother asks you in French, “What the heck is that racket?” You respond in French, “Come on Mom, it’s just a little rock music. You’ve heard this stuff before.” Your mom replies in French, “Yes, but not at that decibel level, and not right before we leave for the opera.” You laugh and tell your mom in French, “That’s probably true. It is a little bit of culture shock. Have fun.” Your dad asks in French, “Do they do that crowd surfing thing at these shows?” You chuckle and say in French, “No, Dad, people don’t do that anymore-not since the 1990s.” You had to tell him a little white lie so your parents wouldn’t worry, but you hope they don’t do that in France, anyway. You add in French, “Just to be safe though, I’m leaving my valuable stuff in the hotel safe, and then I’ll be on my way. I won’t be out late, so we can leave early in the morning for the wine tour.” Of course, your parents don’t share your definition of the words “late” or “early,” but you’ll deal with that in the morning.
