You are walking through the Louvre. You have dreamed of this moment for years. As a student of French art, you fell in love with many of these works in French books and films, but to see them with your own eyes now is breathtaking. You spend what must be an eternity at each French piece, taking in every line, every brushstroke, trying to relive the artists’ movements as they created each one. The French curator, noticing that you have visited several times for many hours and seem to know something about art, approaches you. He asks you your opinion about the painting you are looking at in French. You know that he spends a lot of time with the French art and has studied for years. You are flattered that he has asked, and a little intimidated to answer as well. You think to yourself that you may never get the opportunity to discuss French art with someone so deeply embedded in it again. Then you realize you do not know how to tell someone your opinion in French. How do you say, “I think…” or “I believe…” in French? Maybe you could just shrug your shoulders…

Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! In this French Lower Intermediate lesson, you will learn how to express your opinion in French, and agree and disagree in French! Then we will discuss French industries and assets.

The term “molecular nanotechnology” is the technology of highly versatile and inexpensive molecular fabrication, molecular manipulation, and molecular-level manufacturing. It refers to the the scale of atoms and molecules. The key concepts of molecular nanotechnology are that molecules can be machines and that molecular engineers can work with molecules just as effectively as today’s engineers now work with bulk materials. What do you think about nanotechnology in medecine?

avatar Munia says:

I have mixed feelings about nanotechnology. On the one hand, it can have many useful applications in science, technology and medicine, which would lead to saving lives, getting better computers and generally improving our quality of life. On the other hand, it scares me (a lot!) that it is used for military purposes. I found an interesting article about that, by the way: http://www.indiadaily.com/editorial/1732.asp

Hi Munia

Thanks for sharing the link! Interesting insight about the possibilities of nanotechnology…
Hmmm as with any new technology at its infancy stage and a lot is unknown, fear genuinely creeps in.
History repeats itself… Weren’t we fearful of genetic manipulation and computers taking over the human race?
Some will trust our governments and institutions, other a higher power or fall back on a specific life philosophy.
Good can’t exist without bad….
The questions is how to make sure powerful tools as nanotechnology aren’t justified and used for the wrong purposes.

Hi Careyxxx

C’est une bonne question, quelles sont les libertés de reproduction en respectant les droits d’auteurs?
La question s’est d’ailleurs posé pour la photo de Robert Doisneau “Le Baiser de l’hotel de Ville Paris 1950″. More than 40 years later, a couple proclaiming being the ones on the picture tried to sue in vain as the secret of the picture history got revealed later.

This question also reminds me of a couple friends of my older brother who had a tobacco store. They had the surprise to get a fine for playing the radio while serving their customers….
So the only music they could listen to afterward was the ambient recording of the birds singing in the forest, ocean waves etc…

Carey, if you are talking about Gael García Bernal (I’m not totally sure, as it’s been a while since I watched that movie), he is not Spanish, but Mexican.

avatar careyxxx says:

Yes, I heard there was 1 Mexican in the movie, but I am talking about another actor in the movie who had a sex change. The actor’s name is Francisco Boira. Have you heard anything about him? Does he play the same type of roles? Also, their Spanish was different — they had a lot of “th” in their words.

avatar celine says:

Hello !
Yes the Mexican is Gael Garcia Bernal.
The only thing I know about Francisco Boira is that he was born in Aragon (my second hometown !)

Careyxx, yes the mexican spanish is really different from the spanish from Spain. Actually, Gael was asked to work on his Spanish in order to get the Spanish accent from Spain called “Castellano”.

In Castellano, the pronunciation is different like the “C” “Z” and some other words which aren’t used in South and Central America.

Spanish movies are usually about twisted stories !
I recommend you “Jamon Jamon” Bigas Luna, all Pedro Almodovar’s classics, movies from La Movida !!!
