You and your husband traveled all the way to France to spend the entire summer. You both feel it is very important for you and his French family to get to know each other very well. He taught you quite a bit of French before you left so that you would be able to communicate in French with his family. The first night you are in France everything goes wonderfully! You love his family, they love you, and you are able to talk with them in French fairly well. They excitedly invite you to their home in Paris for dinner the next evening to meet the rest of their large family. The next night, while chatting and helping the women in the family prepare dinner, you suddenly realize your husband did not teach you everything you need to know! You have no idea how to say ANYTHING in French that pertains to dining or the kitchen or utensils or cooking…oh, no! How are you going to talk to these French ladies all afternoon? When you get hold of your husband let’s just say someone’s French goose is cooked!
Learning French with FrenchPod101.com is the most fun and effective way to learn French! This French Newbie lesson will teach you everything you need to know in French to maneuver and describe those French kitchens and dining rooms you are destined to visit in France!

Nice lesson! Remi is truly a rascal.
By the way, I have a question. In the lesson, Sam says: “Je suis dans Paris.” However, I’m more used to hearing “Je suis à Paris.” Are any differences in the usage of both expressions, or are they equivalent? Thanks!
Bonjour Mademoiselle Munia,
Je suis dans Paris : I’m in the middle of Paris, I’m somewhere inside Paris.
Je suis à Paris : I’m in Paris.
Ah, je comprends maintenant! Merci beaucoup, Mademoiselle (Madame?) Celine!
