My mother told me once she was donating her blood when the following scene happened:
The next person blood bag was filing with a layer of yellowish liquid. The nurse asked the patient “did you eat fries earlier?”. Surely enough the response was affirmative.
Gross no? - Oops, don’t feel that well….
I still eat fries though! (but not as often)

I totally had to look up the etymology of ‘french fries’ and according to Wikipedia (which is never wrong of course), it refers to the method of cooking, deep frying or sautee.

Now I want a Strongbow…early.

“Quelque chose” means something/anything
For example:
A - Tu veux quelque chose à manger? = Do you want something to eat?
B - Non j’ai déjà mangé! No I already ate.
And you? Do you want something to eat?
